Ugh

I’ve been having pelvic pain for most of my third trimester, but the last few days it has gotten really intense. The pain is intermittent in severity, but at its worst, I’m crying (at least half a dozen times a day.) My midwife says I have SPD and other than narcotics and inducing labor, I’ll just have to wait it out. And she told me I couldn’t bend down or pick up anything of consequence (including Kate!) Luckily, Mike only has three days left of teaching, but please pray that we find help for those days. Thanks!

  6. Ugh! That’s awful. My prayers are with you, for this and for the safe and healthy delivery of your second wee one.

  7. Sorry to hear it!! I’ve been having lots of muscle pain (you’d think with all the coughing, my abdominal muscles would be totally buff!) myself, particularly when I’m picking Jay up. I’ll pray that you find help. Please pray that the boy starts walking!!!

  8. Also, have you tried heat and/or cold? Sometimes that helps with joint things, and shouldn’t distress Lexi too much.

  9. I wish we lived close to you. Evelyn and I could come over and pick things up for you all day. She’s getting good at it.

  10. Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I’ll pray for relief.

  15. I can totally sympathize… I got SPD in my pregnancy too. The scary part for me was that every single morning when I sat up I heard loud cracking noises in my pelvic area from the joints popping. Eek. It’ll go away soon after the baby comes.

  16. I didn’t realize what SPD was when you used those initials before. *blush* I had the same thing, intensified with #4. And honestly, chiro care helped enormously. I was seeing the chiro because #4 was breech, and my midwife was a firm believer in chiro and prayer being the best things to turn babies.

I know I’m chiming in late. I really hate that I could have mentioned this to you weeks ago, and you might have found some relief. The pain in that region (and sciatic nerve pain) was lessened dramatically after seeing a chiro who had lots of experience with pregnant women.

(Btw, she had a “nursery” in her office. Both she and her husband were chiro docs and both worked in the office, though she was the primary doc. And both cared for their kiddos there, too. One of the neatest family set ups I’d seen. . . )
