We made an offer.

We made an offer. I have no idea why only six months of archives show up on the list on the left hand side. You can navigate all of our WordPress archives from the calendar, though. Any ideas? ![]() We’re prayerfully considering putting an offer on this house tomorrow. Another agent showed it today, so if you could join us in praying that (a) if it’s supposed to be ours, they didn’t like it and (b) if it’s not supposed to be ours, they put in a really great offer so it’s abundantly clear we need to keep on looking. After almost two full months of celebrating Texas’ National Championship in football, the header picture has finally changed. Many thanks to Phil for the picture. We went to see Andrew Peterson in concert last night, and it was great. Lexi came with us and did wonderfully. We all really enjoyed it. Kate stayed home, asleep (with a sitter). Then we had nursery duty this morning at church so we were there for both services and looked at a house with potential this afternoon. Whew! I got tagged by Sweetpea, who is trying her hand at starting a meme. List 5 Little Things That Bring You Satisfaction or Pleasure. I tag: Adrienne, Donna, Elizabeth, Lenise and Rachael. And you, if you feel like spreading the love! Here’s a mix cd I compiled for Kate — upbeat, playing and dancing songs. Most songs are available from iTunes. Continue reading Our Home is a Raffi-Free Zone Subtitled “A Novel About the History of Philosophy,” Sophie’s World is a a unique and intriguing book that blends a basic history of philosophy with an enjoyable story, a philosophical mystery. The history of philosophy is very basic and most appropriate for those without much exposure to the field or a very rusty and rudimentary knowledge of it. The upper school where Mike teaches owns a class set and used it in a Western Civ class last year, which is how I was introduced to the book. I would recommend it to homeschoolers (appropriate for teenagers) and adults who are ashamed of their grasp of the history of the big questions. At the very least, it will give you a rubric and help to direct you to philosophical movements you might want to investigate more deeply. Borrowed from the School. (9/10) So, we’re looking for a house. The housing market here has skyrocketed the last five years so buying a first house is more difficult than in many other places. We’re also competing with all the investors who are buying to flip. The average house here sells in less than a week. So, the market is against us, but we have hope knowing that God is sovereign even over these things. The process is nerve-wracking, depressing and exciting, all at once. We’ll keep you posted! Pictures of the baptism itself are in the Family Life album. I am so glad my parents, grandmother and siblings were able to be there, and our friend Genevieve, who is the only person other than Mike and I to witness both our daughters’ baptisms. We like her husband, too, but he missed Kate’s baptism for some RUF minister’s conference so… he’s not as cool! One house we were considering sold after sitting on the market for 250 days (crazy for Richmond.) I honestly think it was God protecting us from something we shouldn’t have. We’re looking at another house today. Expect posts next week about Kate’s first haircut and lots of pictures (on the girls’ blogs) and househunting and tomorrow’s baptism. Life is good but hectic! Kate is still really struggling with all four of her canine teeth. It’s been over two weeks now, please pray the agony ends soon. wingedfeetdesign.com went live today. |
