We’re back

The Good:
Kate had fun with my family
Lexi travelled well
We enjoyed the hospitality of many kind people in Birmingham and worshipping at Trinity Presbyterian
We made a solid short list of homes and an offer on our #1 (Sims) on Sunday

The Bad: (really, The Annoying)
Our air conditioning compressor (or something related to it) broke around Greenville, South Carolina yesterday
Our #1 home is owned by a Relocation company so we have to wait for the corporate timeline

The Ugly:
Billboards
Heat

  1. Glad you made it back. When one is Sims — the link doesn’t work?

    Off to the OB…

  2. The green arts & crafts style bungalow with the big front porch: here’s a link to another realtor maybe it will work :o|

  3. cute house! looks like it would be easy to add a few things here and there and make it feel like home!:) Best wishes!

  4. That IS a cute house. High ceilings *sniff* Just like the one we want across downtown. And it looks like a great walking neighborhood! I hope you get a contract quickly!

  5. I’s a terrific walking neighborhood — within six blocks there are several banks, the post office, the library, a really nice park with a new playground and covered picnic tables, Sonic and The Pants Store (it’s apparently a big destination for shoppers, many people I talked to about the house said, “oh, it’s near the pants store!”).

    Still no contract. Argh!

  6. love, love the house!! Hope it works out.

  7. Enjoyed seeing y’all this weekend! You’re right, it was HOT!

  8. Best wishes on your upcoming move!
Just wondering, do you know where will Mike be teaching?
    Dana in GA

  9. It’s so cute! hope it works out for you. can’t imagine the heat though, I’m not a lover of hot.
(maybe that’s why I live where I do!)

  10. Brad,
We enjoyed seeing all of you, too!

    Dana,
He’ll be teaching at the large classical school there.

  11. That looks like a great home. What’s the yard like? We just finally moved in to our house and are loving it. The claw-foot tub sounds relaxing. Enjoy!

  12. The yard is in relatively good condition with a few old trees, it’s 2.3 city lots, actually (125 x 150 feet?) but sits on only one lot, so we have the chance to have a REALLY big garden or maybe possibly build next door in the future.

I just couldn’t ask for more in a first home.
