Freedom

When my friend Sara first heard about our house, she told me one of the fringe benefits of living in an old house with little closet space is that it makes it much harder to be attached to posessions. We’ve been getting rid of things left and right and it is so freeing.

We’re packing and living and… I don’t have time to write of all the things I’d like. Perhaps non-chatty post tomorrow.

  1. I agree. My house may only be 20+ years, but with it being a townhouse as well.. with a pack-rat roommate.. there is no storage whatsoever (and there is only two of us!). It really is freeing for me to not be concerned with collecting stuff and keeping stuff as I used to be.

  2. Unfortunately, some of us are a little bit slow to learn these lessons. Better to do it now than when you’re trying to sell the house! I’ve got a lot of stuff, but I’m not the only guilty party. I’m a packrat, and Paul likes to buy in BULK. Ugh.

  3. We’ve got an old house with very small closets and… a full basement and attic! Plenty of room for all of our ridiculous material possessions that may or may not be used on a yearly basis. UGH.
