Leaving (in a Volvo)

Tomorrow the girls and I are headed to spend a few days in my sweet Carolina with my parents and siblings. I am a little nervous about the drive, but we will surely have a great time. We’ve had a stomach bug circulate through the whole family the past week and a half. Mike fell last and got it the worst. I feel a little bad leaving him by himself but tomorrow will be day five and at the very least he will not have anyone to bug him while he recuperates!

We had a really great Magic City Slingers meeting today. It was so encouraging and fun. Several people completely new to slinging left the meeting armed with carriers from the lending library and some knowledge of how to use them.

  1. Oooh! I love the MCS website. *Grin*

  2. Short and quick –
    – Have a great trip and be careful
    – Although I, too, am all about caring for our husbands, remember he is an adult and knows how to take care of himself – he’ll be fine.
    – I wish there was something like MCS around here, it would really be nice to have at least one someone who thought the way I do. It’s hard around here with no one of like mind.

  3. That’s awesome! What a great idea…if only we lived in B’ham. ;)

But there’s one in Atlanta near us…it might come in handy next spring…

  4. Have a good trip! I’m contemplating driving to Ft Benning with the boys alone, but no one wants me to try it alone… Maybe I can talk my sister into coming along.

  5. We just had a bad stomach bug go thru our house too…and my husband got it the worst too. Poor Mike. I hope he feels better. I’m sure he’ll appreciate a quiet house.

  6. tis that time of year- we have the upper respiratory virus going through out family. Coleman is getting much better, Shane is in bed and I am in line i guess.

Have a safe trip- I am sure Mike will be fine alone.

  7. Alright, that’s it. I’m coming down there to learn the mysteries of wrapping my babies on. I STINK! I have a Bjorn (great till 3 months) and a ring sling (still good, but not my fave for the back) and an Ergo in the mail. But I just love the idea of one long piece of versatile fabric and wish I could feel comfortable tying a baby on in one!
