Input

We have DVR with our rental, and the ability to record and watch multiple things on our many channels, without having to watch commercials, has led to some gratuitous television consumption. I am watching way more than I ever have. My excuse is that I cannot read while editing photos. In my head, I cancel this out by also listening to one extra sermon a week. Right now I am into Mark Driscoll’s Song of Solomon series, and I am enjoying it. At least my rationalizations have some fruit!

  1. i am watching more than ever, as well.. but luckily there are a few shows i have floated off to sea after i caught myself watching them on a pretty day not even laughing or enjoying them anymore.

  2. i have even found myself addicted to shows that i would never watch otherwise, like “gossip girl” and “90210.” what?

    darn you, dvr!

  3. I also watch Gossip Girl… and was sad it wasn’t new last night. But I watched season 2 of Dexter on demand and that was a comfort in my disappointment.

  4. Thankfully, we don’t even have rabbit ears. We do have Netflix, though, and too many at once at that. The boys have a huge bin of VHS tapes and a big books of DVDs, so we watch a lot of kids’ shows over and over. Then there’s the library- lately we’ve been borrowing educational vids about Amphibians (‘Phibians or Comibians as Jay says), lightning, butterflies, that sort of thing. The boys really enjoy the Eyewitness series.

And then there’s the Wii. And the internet on the Wii. Ugh!!
